Yusupov Interactive Lecture Series Schedule

Yusupov Interactive Lecture Series Schedule; Artur Tackles Steinitz, Kasparov, Alekhine, and Petrosian!  Blitz tournament to follow each lecture!

We would like to update everyone on our new lecture series that ICA coach and former World #3 rated player Artur Yusupov will lead once a month via Skype from our Fair Lawn location.

The dates and the player to be discussed for the Winter, and Spring seasons are as follows:

On January 10th Artur will discuss the first world champion Wilhelm Steinitz.

On February 28th the lecture will focus on arguably the greatest player of all time in Garry Kasparov.

On March 6th Artur will look at Slava’s personal favorite Alexander Alekhine,

While on April 10th Max Schwartz will be happy to note that Artur will cover the “Iron Tiger” and defensive wizard, Tigran Petrosian.

The lecture will start at 3 p.m. at our Fair Lawn location and the cost for two hours with one of the top coaches, and players in the world is just 30 bucks.

We will also have a blitz tournament that will follow with a prize awarded to the winner.  The blitz tournament affords lower rated players to compete with players rated 1000 point or more.

While we limited registration to players with a rating of over 1300 we will waive that requirement if the attendee is a serious student and will not disrupt the lecture.

For those curious about the value attending a lecture like this can bring, we would like to bring an argument and quote from ICA dad and brand new Fide master Dmitry Volkov (in regard to the first lecture on Tal):

“when I was studying chess as a teenager growing up in Russia I only dreamt about seeing a real life grandmaster in person, much less having a lesson with him.” Of course that only referred to a grandmaster, and this after all is Artur Yusupov.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Artur’s lecture.
