2015 ICA Summer Camp Teaneck Week 9

Scholastic Chess Camp Week 9 Teaneck Report:

Week nine of chess camp had three tournament sections and despite being sick two days Jeremy Chan-Shia was the winner in the first one on tie-breaks over Josh RT.  The section two winner was Kenneth Shi, while the section three winner was his younger brother Keith Shi.

The best students in each group were little Rafi Kaplan for Melanie’s group, David Liu for Slava’s group, Isak Dubrow for Ivette’s (though Joshua Khodosh tied and since he got the sports prize we went with Isak), and Nathan Cuttler for Justin’s.

Etan Mincer was the best in the problem solving, while David Liu was the winner for the simul event, while in the Friday bughouse (which sometimes replaces the standard blitz/bughouse event) Jeremy, and Jonathan were the winners.

In the sports events David Liu was the winner in the 2002 group, Joshua Khodosh was the winner for 2007, Nathan Neufeld, in 2008, and Robert Belson for 2009.

Blaise Thevenot was the clear winner for dodgeball while the relay race winners were “The Old Bunch” who were captained by Josh RT, and included Etan Mincer, and Nathan Neufeld.
