Four Way Tie in Fall Ostfeld Memorial  Open Competition; GMs Benjamin, Stripunsky, and Burke, and Jacobson tie for first place!

In the first Ostfeld Memorial Open Competition of the year, aptly named the Fall version, a four way tie for first split the top prizes into four even quarters.  As expected, the GM’s Alex Stripunsky, and Joel Benjamin beat three of their opponents handily, and drew their last round individual encounter with each other, while John Michael Burke, and Aaron Jacobson did the same though drawing their third round game against each other as opposed to the last one.   The four way tie resulted in 169 dollars awarded to each of them.

Boris Privman won the Senior prize of 67.50 by virtue of his three wins, and one loss to GM Alex Stripunsky, and of course because he is over the age of fifty-five.

Brandon Jacobson won 67.50 for his three wins and (his only loss came to GM Benjamin) the fact that he had the best result of a player rated under 13, while Vinod Akunuri won 90 bucks for his three wins and best result of a player rated under 2200.

Six players scored 2.5 out of four points and each got thirty dollars for best results under the 2000, or 1800 rating level.  The u2000 players were Marvin Shumowitz, Libaski Garcia, and Joel Pruzansky, while the u1800 players were Ashrey Mahesh, Daniel Bacon, and Amey Pasarkar.

Lastly but certainly not least of all four players also tied, and thereby received 22.50 for best results under the 1600 rating level. They were Allessandro Demarchi-Blumstein, Shikhar Ahuja, Daniel Khaitov, and Daniel Girsh.

Thirty-seven players competed and we hope to see all of them and more at our next Ostfeld Memorial scheduled for November 15^th.
