Stripunsky Family Wins First Ostfeld Memorial Family event of the Season; Jacobsons, Iyers tie for second and third!

GM Alex Stripunsky and his daughter Jane won the first Dr. Ostfeld memorial Family competition of the season held this past week at Bergen Academies in Hackensack.  GM Stripunsky as is usually the case dominated and finished atop the leaderboard in the Open section with three and a half points, while Jane outdid even her dad and got a perfect score of four points though of course in the “slightly lower than open” section four.  Both father and daughter get free entry into the next Ostfeld Memorial tournament scheduled for November 15^th as well as free entry into any one Super Saturday tournament held any Saturday at our Fair Lawn location.

The Jacobson brothers, Aaron, and Brandon, both playing in the open section ended up in second place with six and a half points total (three-and-a-half for Aaron, and three for Brandon).  Both brothers also gain free entry into the next Ostfeld Memorial tournament scheduled for November 15^th as well as free entry into any one Super Saturday tournament held any Saturday at our Fair Lawn location.

Finally, the Iyer clan, comprised of Aneesh, Akshat, and Ayush finished in third place on the strength of Aneesh’s three points in section 1, and Akshat’s three-and-a-half in section three (Ayush got two-and-a-half but only the top two members scores count for the family total).  All three brothers get free entry into the next Ostfeld Memorial tournament scheduled for November 15^th .

A total of twenty-one families competed in the Fall Ostfeld Memorial tournament and we hope to see them and more back there on November 15^th.
