GM Alex “Go” Fishbein Wins Dave Ostfeld Memorial

GM Alex “Go” Fishbein wins Dave Ostfeld Memorial open event as Stripunsky, Benjamin, and Privman all draw to finish second!

 

Grandmaster Alexander “Go” Fishbein won all four games and three hundred dollars this past Sunday at the Bergen Academies in our bi-monthly Ostfeld Memorial Open competition.  GM Fishbein finished ahead of both GM’s Joel Benjamin, and Alexander Stripunsky, as well as Boris Privman who all made one draw each (GM Benjamin, and Privman drew each other in round three) and won their other three games to get 175 dollars each.  The prize money was pulled for the second, and third place prizes as well as the top player under the age of 55 prize.

In the top player under categories Gregory Nolan received 66.67 for three points out of four and the best u2200 finish, while Bilgen Sazci, and Amey Pasarkar got 66.67 for their three points and best results of players rated under 2000.

A dynamic duo of dads, Levan, Babukhadia, and Igor Dyadyuk got fifty bucks each for best results of players rated under 1800 for their two-and-a-half point totals, while Nastasia Klevak, and Alessandro Demarchi-Blumstein got fifty bucks for two points and best results of player rated under 1600.

Finally, Jonathan Chin, and Brandon Jacobson got two-and-a-half points and 37.50 for best results of player under the age of 13.

Forty-two players competed in the Dr Ostfeld Open memorial event.
