ICA 20th Anniversary Teaneck Scholastic Summer Camp Week 8

ICA 20th Anniversary Teaneck Scholastic Summer Camp Week 8:
Wonder Twin Powers Activate!

The ironic, and adorable moment this week came when current ICA students and twins Udbhav, and Shuban Devarakonda met former ICA students, and this week’s ICA coaches, and fellow twins, Hillel and Yehuda Koslowe.  The Koslowe’s imparted crucial knowledge on the Devarakonda’s in regards to fooling the rest of the camp about which brother is which (typical stuff like dressing the same, and answering when your brother is called, but also hiding your different attributes like hair length, or other outward appearance features).

Andrew Sung was the winner of section one with Leon Berenfeld a surprise second over both Devarakonda brothers as well as returning Jeremy Chan-Shia, and recently promoted to section one competitor Joshua Kodosh. Section two was won by Ryan Chen with his fellow Fort Lee friend Benedetto Lozzano second. Section three was won by the pride of Solomon Schecter Day school Yeshaya Agin.

The best students in this week’s groups were Leon Berenfeld in Gregory’s group, Moshe Trapedo in Yehuda/Slava’s group, Lucia Koretsky in Solomon’s group, and Netanya, and Amelie in Hillel/Zoya’s group.

Ryan Chen survived the most in the simul competition, while Andrew Sung solved the most chess problems.

In the sports groups Nathan Neufeld won in the youngest group, while Udbhav and Shuban used their new tricky twin tactics to win for the middle sports group (both brothers were actually 1st and 2nd in the 7 player sports group). Mathew Koretsky, and Jeremy Chan Shia were the winners in the oldest group.

The relay races were won by the Wicked Weasels (comprised of Udbhav, Josh, Lucy, and Yeshaya), while the dodgeball result ended in a tie between Nathan Neufeld, and Yaakov Mankowitz(who fell to second place after leading in the beginning of the week but got two points to draw the leader Yaakov).

Benedetto Lozzano won the art prize.

Finally, the blitz/bughouse winners were the team named “WIN” and comprised of Udbhav, Netanya, and Sam.
