Brandon "Half of the sibling duo of" Jacobson Wins ICA Open Event; Brandon Jacobson topped the field at the recent Ostfeld Memorial Open event on November 6th at Bergen Academies. With four perfect wins he was the only player eligible for first place and the 210 dollar prize that comes along with it. Tied for second were a pair of ICA coaches in GM Alex Stripunsky, and Igor Yeliseyev who won three games and drew their third round encounter. The game concluded with a very difficult to win Philidor position of "King and Queen" vs "King and Rook" (

Both players got $157.50 for the result.
Eric Li got $70 for three points and best results of a player under a 2200 rating.
Boris Privman got $52.50 for three wins and best results of a player over the age of 55.
ICA student Ryan Xu got $70 for three wins and best results of a player with a rating under 2000.
ICA student, Aryeh Lieb Shlionsky got $52.50 for 2.5 points and best results of a player under the age of 13.
Roman Brustein got $70 for two points and best results of a player with a rating under 1800.
Finally, long time ICA student, and one of the 40 best girls in her age group in the whole USA, Sophie Rasol got $70 for her one and a half points and best results of a player with a rating under 1600.
Twenthy-eight players competed in the Open section in the Ostfeld memorial this time around.
