ICA coaches GM Stripunsky, and Igor Yeliseyev share Second Place!

Brandon Jacobson topped the field at the recent Ostfeld Memorial Open event on November 6th at Bergen Academies. With four perfect wins he was the only player eligible for first place and the 210 dollar prize that comes along with it.

Tied for second were a pair of ICA coaches in GM Alex Stripunsky, and Igor Yeliseyev who won three games and drew their third round encounter. The game concluded with a very difficult to win Philidor position of "King and Queen" vs "King and Rook" (
