Scholastic Summer Camp Teaneck Week 9 Report;
“We’ll Win” Won!
On Friday, during the blitz/bughouse name choosing competition Armaan, Sam, and Yeshaya picked the name “We’ll Win” for their team. Ironically win is exactly what they did turning the name into more of a prophecy than a classification of the collective.
Moshe Trapedo was the winner of the section one tournament after upsetting the highest rated camper Andrew Sung. Joseph Kouperschmidt won in section two without much effort, while Yeshaya Agin was able to win section three.
The best students in each group were Armaan Ivaturi in Ivette’s group, Andrew Sung in Slava’s group (scoring the win on the very last question of the week as he was down by a half point against Moshe but managed to answer the question correctly while Moshe did not). Soohan Cho was the winner in Orren’s group, while Damien Geberovich was the winner in Won’s group.
Joseph Kouperschmidt and Yaakov Mankowitz were the winners for problem solving, while Moshe Trapedo, and Boaz Passner were the winners in the simul event.
Outside for sports Yeshaya Agin, Damien Geberovich, Yaakov Mankowitz (tied with Moshe), and William Park were the winners in their individual athletic groups (youngest to oldest).
Yaakov Mankowitz was also the winner for dodgeball.
On Friday, due to rain we could not do our traditional relay race event so we did “rainy day” blitz instead with the winners being Andrew Sung in the rated group, and Emery Brower in the lower group.
There is one more week of camp left this year and it promises to be huge!
