International Chess Academy has three distinct summer training camps for the advanced and elite chess student. Located in Glen Rock, NJ, these summer programs are open to local, national and international students and are based on USCF/FIDE rating requirements.

Master Sergey Grabuzov, Head Trainer
Sergey is a graduate and faculty member of the Russian State University of Physical Education. Since 1990 he has trained and prepared five current Grandmasters and countless International Masters. Sergey will work with students this summer to improve their overall game through problem solving, game analysis, opening preparation, and endgame studies. Like many other top players and trainers, he understands the importance of physical fitness for chess players and has a range of exercises and athletic competitions to keep students in shape while still having fun.

Grandmaster Alex Stripunsky, Head Trainer
GM Stripunsky has earned great respect and recognition as one of America's Elite Grandmasters and is known as one of the Premier Chess Coaches. He's a winner of many international Open tournaments in U.S. and abroad.

Grandmaster Alexander Chernin, Head Trainer
There are coaches and there are coaches. Alexander Chernin has earned the reputation as one of world's most successful chess coaches based on the achievements of students that he has ushered into stardom. In addition to coaching World Champion Candidate Fabiano Caruana, Chernin has worked with some of America's rising stars, including Sam Sevian and Jefferey Xiong, both of whom have qualified for the most recent U.S. Championship.

As a competitor himself, Chernin's notable successes have included: silver medalist at the 1979 World Junior Championship (behind Seirawan); Soviet co-champion in 1985 (with GM Gavrikov and GM Gurevich), winner of Dortmund 1990 (ahead of GM Boris Gelfand), World Championship Candidate in 1985, and more.
