Report on WEEK 1:
ICA Chess Summer Camp is the perfect way to introduce the game of chess to new students and deepen the understanding of the game for established players.
Week #1 saw 18 young campers with the majority returning from last summer and a few newcomers as well, including some girls!
Children were placed into groups according to chess level in order to concentrate on specific skills appropriate for their experience. We had four groups and our coaches named their best student of the week. Congratulations to best students of WEEK 1:
CHRISTOPHER JINN- Coach Alessandro
Well done!
Also, Coach Ivette would like to note a great start for JUSTIN YOO, who played his very first tournament and “had a very good game”.
This week was exceptionally exciting with many athletic events, like basketball and dodgeball, despite the rainy weather.
Congratulations to CHARLES JINN who was unanimously voted as the best dodgeball champ!
This week we incorporated new events like archery! Thank you, SETH SVERDLOV, for providing the equipment! What a surprise!
We would also like to congratulate SETH and ANAHIT on their amazing artistic works and hope that they will use awards that they received for their future art works!
We are glad to announce that we had an academically productive week with many new techniques being taught, such as using a pin to give checkmate.
We would like to congratulate OUR TOURNAMENT WINNERS:
