January 30^h, 2021 Quads Report

Thank you to all participants for playing and welcome to all our new players! With one of our biggest events to date, we had a total of 14 sections! Here are the highlights from this week`s tournament: our new players: Yeshwanth, Audrey, Tariq, Dashawn, Nathan, Harish, Sierra, Matthew H, Malichi, Edward, Jordan, Cayden, and Thaman!

 

In Over 1000 Section 1, Jane, Yeshwanth, and Pranav all tied for first place with two points. Jane got off to a strong start but lost to Pranav in the final round. With the final round win, Pranav extends his streak to a three-time consecutive winning streak! Well done to all three winners of this tough section!

Over 1000 Section 2, Ekeoma returned to the scene after a month`s break. With an impressive 2.5 out of 3, he takes clear first place and adds another trophy to the virtual case! Congratulations and welcome back!

In Over 1000 Section 3, Olivia finally put an end to Albert`s record-setting six-time winning streak. Taking first place with a perfect score, Olivia crowns herself as the one to beat and takes home a well-deserved victory! Congratulations Olivia!

In Over 1000 Section 4, our new players battled it out to a tied finish. Nobody ended without a point, but in the end Audrey and Tariq ended up on top of this extremely competitive section. Both scoring 2 out of 3 points, they impress on their very first time playing with us! Well done to you both and we must have you back again soon. Well played!

In Over 1000 Section 5, Michael L won his section with a perfect score! In a fierce section with all competitive tournament players, a perfect score is not easy to achieve. Michael cut through the section with precise opening theory and demonstrated the importance of a solid repertoire. Well done Michael!

In Under 1000 Section 1, Julian topped the section with a perfect score! A very dedicated player, Julian spends a lot of time in classes and honing his chess skills. With good opening knowledge and strong tactical ability, he rose to the occasion and won clear first place! Under 1000 Section 2, Vishal made his return to the top of the ladder after his streak was ended last week by Michael. Determined not to be kept down for long, he came back today with a vengeance and decimated his section with a perfect score! Congratulations on the impressive victory!

In Under 1000 Section 3, there was a massive 3-way tie for first place. Chunyu, Everest, and Trevor all scored 2 out of 3 points and split the prize evenly! Although Trevor was off to an impressive 2-0 start to begin the section, Everest stopped the streak in the final round and forced a tied section. With this win, Chunyu is now on a two-time winning streak, and Everest is on a four-time winning streak!

Under 1000 Section 4 saw Harish, one of our new players, demolish the section with a perfect record! With a 3 out of 3 score, they cement themselves as a competitive figure in future events! We hope to have you back soon and well played!

In Under 1000 Section 5, Satvik returned after not playing for a while. Coming back with a statement, Satvik crushed the section with a perfect score! Well done on the triumphant return!

Under 1000 Section 6 ended in a two-way tie for first between Yash and Matthew H. This was Matthew`s first time competing in an ICA event! Yash has been playing a few tournaments recently, but this is their first time taking first place! Congratulations to you both on your success!

In Under 1000 Section 7 one of our most regular players, Andy, topped the section with an impressive 2.5 out of 3 points. Andy plays quads every week and is rapidly improving! Well done on your win!

Under 1000 Section 8 saw Jackson rising to the top with a perfect record! Jackson has been playing chess for a good amount of time, we`re happy to see your hard work paying off! Congratulations on your victory!

In Under 1000 Section 9 Thaman entered the scene with a bang! In his very first time competing with us, he took the section down with a perfect score! With an impressive set of games, Thaman cements himself as a force to be reckoned with in the future!
