February 6^th, 2021 Quads Report

Once again thank you to all participants of the February 6th Saturday Super Quads! Welcome to all the new players: Dylan, Sruthi, Theo, Ian, Ean, Hanrui, Ayush, Kenton, and Liam! Let us look at the tournament’s highlights:

In Over 1000 Section 1, Jane was hungry for more after last week’s tie for first, and took home the gold today, sweeping through all 3 rounds, and extends her win streak to two! Congrats!

In Over 1000 Section 2, Olivia did not feel like winning one section last week was enough, so she did it again! She increases her win streak to two, and with her fierce attacks on her opponent, she earned herself the Game of the Week! Click here to see the game: https://www.chess.com/live/game/6472670859. 

Over 1000 Section 3, saw a clash of the titans, with Matthew and Tariq sharing first place! When they came head-to-head, Matthew took the win, but both ended up with an astonishing 2 points each. With this win Tariq extends his win streak to 2! Well done!

In Over 1000 Section 4, though drawing to Aiden in the first round, Geoffrey picked up two wins in the following rounds, earning himself first place! Hopefully, a start of a long and prosperous win streak! Congrats!

In Under 1000 Section 1, a section where everyone was eager to start their win streak, Daniel C made it out victorious, sweeping through all 3 rounds. Great Job!

Under 1000 Section 2, similarly to the previous section, every player was hungry to begin their win streak, so let us give it up for Angie for securing her start to her win streak after winning all 3 rounds!

Under 1000 Section 3, saw new player Ayush close to victory, but could not take down today’s winner Harish. An excellent performance earned Harish his second win in a row! Congratulations!

In Under 1000 Section 4 we saw Joey storm through his first two rounds, and with a draw in the end, he was able to secure the win, while ending Everest’s 4x win streak! What a competition! Congratulations!

Under 1000 Section 5, welcomed six players today, and was really action packed! There was a three-way tie for second place! Congrats to Daniel V, Christian, and new player Sruthi! Meanwhile, with a strong 3 points, Rachel soared to first place of the section, extending her win streak to 2! Well played!

Under 1000 Section 7 George was surrounded by three players who each held a 1x win streak, but that did not stop him from winning all his games and taking home the gold! Congratulations!

In Under 1000 Section 8 while drawing his last round to Andrew, Hovannes was still able to win his previous two, earning him the crown this week! Nicely done!

In Under 1000 Section 9 we saw Vincent win all three of his games, earning him top spot with a great start to his win streak! Keep up the good games!
