ICA Students Excel At National Qualifiers.

ICA Students Excel at National Qualifiers. Move onto National Championship Weekend!

We are so proud of our Five ICA students who competed this past weekend in the National Online Scholastic Championships Qualification tournament.  Four of our students placed in the top 15% of competitors and qualify for the National Online Scholastic Championships and will compete for the title of National Champion June 12-13!

Michael Lokhov, Gogo Dancig-Perlman and Julian Ma competed against over 300 other K-1 students and finished 20th,21st and 23rd, respectively. They each showed great fortitude and went 6/8. Julian exclaimed, "he was a bit nervous during the games and he`s so happy he made it to the championship weekend.”

In the K-3 section, Aiden Kennedy excelled in a field just shy of 500 students and finished in 36th place by going 6/8.  Aiden was jubilant after the tournament saying, “it was really cool to play in a tournament with so many good people. I was a little nervous in the last 2 games because I had to win to qualify, so I was very happy.” Amazing show of focus in the final rounds!

Alexander Wang dominated in the K-5 section going 7.5/8, tying for 1st, and is looking forward to trying to capture the National Championship in June.  We are also proud of Everest Kim for putting himself on the line and finishing with a very respectable 3/8, against a tough field. Keep up the positive work!

At ICA we take pride in our students always striving to make themselves better and I would like to lead the ICA community of coaches, parents, and students in congratulating all our competitors in their outstanding dedication and play. Here is to cheering and supporting our boys as they train in the coming weeks and compete in June!
