ICA Students at NJ State Grade Championship on November 21, 2021

Thank you for devoting that Sunday to chess. It was a long and exhausting day but at the same time great experience for kids playing over the board chess tournament in their own grades against best NJ kids. There was a total of 34 students from ICA and you see below some highlighted results and photos  (if you took some photos as well – please share with us!). K Grade: Lokhov, Maxim 4 points. Tied for 2^nd place and got 7^th place TROPHY on tie-break Gao, Gillian 3 points. Tied for 10^th place and got 10^th place TROPHY on tie-break Liu, Elvin also tied for 10^th place and received MEDAL.

1^st Grade: Stripunsky, Kate 2 points

2^nd Grade: Ma, Julian 4 points. Tied for 2^nd place and got 4^th place TROPHY on tie-break Lokhov, Michael 4 points. Tied for 2^nd place and got 8^th place TROPHY on tie-break Ma, Jayden 3 points received medal. Liu, Andrew 2 points

3^rd Grade: Kennedy, Aiden 3.5 points. Tied for 9^th place and got 9^th place TROPHY on tie-break Han, Leqi 3 points received medal. Vern, Michael 3 points received medal Redulla, Noah 1 point.

4^th Grade: Weichsel, Thomas, Wu, Yuxin and Kogan, Mark each scored 3 points and received medals.

5^th Grade: Shevelenko, Leon and Xu, Alex each scored 3 points and received medals

6^th Grade: Soldatenkov, Elizabeth, Onik, Ari each scored 3 points and received medals. Alkin, Ido scored 2.5 points. Dyadyuk, Ariella scored 2 points.

8^th Grade: Stripunsky, Jane 4 points. Tied for 2^nd place and got 4^th place TROPHY on tie-break. Milstein, David and Radchenko, Anna scored 3 points each. Adepu, Arnav scored 2 points

9^th Grade: Abzalimov, Albert scored 3 points. Shefter, Aaron scored 2 points.

10^th Grade: Modi, Ethan scored 4 points and got 3rd place TROPHY on tie-break. Lerman, Matthew scored 3.5 points and got 5^th place TROPHY. Goldman, Grant scored 3 points and got 10^th place TROPHY. Das, Vedanta scored 2.5 points. Chen, James scored 1 point

12^th Grade:  Biyanov, Alex scored 4 points and got 2^nd place TROPHY. Boutom, Debra scored 3 points and got 4^th place TROPHY

Our students also won some team trophies (3 people from same grade and same school make a team):

8^th Grade: Jane and Arnav won 3^rd place TROPHY for Fair Lawn Memorial School

10^th Grade: Ethan and Joshua won 1^st place TROPHY for Bergen Academy

12^th Grade: Alex and Debra won 1^st place TROPHY for Bergen Academy
