July 9, 2022, Glen Rock Quads Report (by TD Ethan Modi)
Today we had 38 participants, split into 9 sections, with top four Quad sections being played at Game 45 and the rest at Game 30.
In the top section, Roman won all 3 games against a very tough crowd including 3 masters. All his games were won in the last couple of seconds, and in his final game, his King went all the way from g7 to a1.
In the second section, Ray, won all 3 games against opponents up to 300 points higher than him. All his games were exciting games that included many tactical shots.
In the third section, David also won all 3 games. He played very dominating chess and won most of his games relatively quickly.
In the fourth section, Adam won with 2.5/3 points. This section was very close, including many fighting draws. Games included of positional play, opposite color bishop endgames and more.
Michael L and Santiago tied for 1st place in Section 5. Charles and Thomas won Section 6 and Section 7 (respectively) with a perfect score! Kate and Jude tied for 1st place in Section 8. And, finally, Daniel scored perfect 3 out 3 and won 1st place in Section 9. That was 1st OTB tournament for Daniel since 2020!
