2022 ICA Super Saturday Quads August 6Th

This Saturday August 6, we had 11 sections 10 quads and 1 Swiss.

In Section 1 we had a 2-way tie between Joshua, and Sujia. They both played in a dominating fashion and then played a quick draw resulting in both ending with 2.5/3 points.

In Section 2, there was another tie between Mark and Julian. They both played 2 draws 1 being with each other, and then they won on game each. They both played well.

In Section 3, David won with 2.5/3 points. This section had the most intense games all ending with intense pawn endgames. One interesting game, Jonathan vs David ended in a draw and was a textbook opposition pawn endgame.

In Section 4, Andrew won with 2.5 points. All games went on for the maximum time and resulted in mainly decisive results. His first game with Leon went on for almost 2 hours.

In Section 5, Raben won with a perfect 3/3 score. He played in a very attacking style and won easily.

In Section 6, Evan Roque, won with 2.5/3. His games went on very long. He drew Alex but was able to win the last game in a very good fashion. His games were very tactic-filled and exciting.

Section 7 was a Swiss, with Nikihil winning 3/3, and Anderson, and Ebenezer tied for second with 2/3. Nikhil had very tactical games, which resulted in his last game having a queen vs a rook and 4 pawns. He was able to set up a mating net and win. Anderson also set up very nice checkmate webs, starting with a pawn moving all the way to h6, and mate on g7.

In section 8, Daniel, Kate, and Bennett all won with 2/3. Each one of them had one shaky game but did not let that discourage them. They all played very fearlessly and therefore all were able to win a prize.

In Section 9, Matthew Park won in a very dominating fashion with 3/3. All his games were won very quickly. His games resulted in endgames, tactics, and exciting play.

In Section 10, Noah and Julia won with 2/3. Noah lost to Julia in the first round, but he did not give up. All the games in this section were intense and Julia and Noah were deserved winners.
