August 27 Quads Report, by TD Prashant

Today we had 30 participants, split into 7 sections, with the top section being played at Game 45 and the rest at Game 30.
In the top section, Ray won all 3 games in the Sicilian Dragon / Alapine opening. He used tactics of developing/activating his pieces with outpost, controlling the Center/Queen side and converting the game into win.
In the second section, Thomas and Colin shared the lead with 2 1/2 points, both the players used basic tactics like double attack, skewer, fork to get material advantage.
In the third section, Nikhil also won all 3 games. He controlled the center, used pin, fork to win material like rook
In the fourth section, Gillian won all 3 games, using tactics like mating net, pressure on 2nd rank and quick 8 move mate in the last round. Overall all other sections played fearlessly and showed sportsmanship.
