Immediately after each ICA Tournament, a blog post is written and posted on the website. We are now inviting players and parents to write blog posts for each ICA Tournament for a chance to win free entry to the next ICA Tournament of the same type they will participate in! The rules are as follows:
Upload Google Doc or Word Document to our shared folder. If you are having difficulties, send an Word Document or a link to a Google Doc to bdemchenko@gmail.com with your entry. The Entry MUST be titled: Month Day Year Tournament Name Report Contest, by Name. On the document, participants must supply: A picture of the player in action (official pictures will be posted in the photo gallery the day after the tournament). A short paragraph about the overall tournament experience. A PGN of a match inside the google doc. The easiest way to do this is to enter the match into chess.com/lichess.org, click "Copy PGN", and paste in the doc. Leave it in the doc, I will format it afterwards! It must be clear either before or on the PGN who the player and the opponent are, and who was which color. A paragraph commenting on the match (here we do not care about the result, it is more of an analysis/reflection). Each section must be formatted in the same way! Click this link for formatting information. The winner will be emailed with details on how to use the free entry. With limited exceptions, there can be only one winner! If there are too many entries, the tournament directors reserve the right to delete entries from the report. Your entry is DUE 8pm the night after the tournament! Participants who consistently finish as runners up increase their chances of winning. Thank you and good luck to all participants!
