Teaneck Summer Camp Week 9 Report

Teaneck Summer Camp Week 9 Report: Yujeong DRAWS Coach and National Master Chris Welcome In Practice Game!

In a fairly exhausting week 9 for the coaches, one of the highlights was camper Yujeong Yeo’s unexpected draw in a serious one on one practice game against coach NM Chris Welcome. Coach Chris said Yujeong fought very well out of an inferior position, and in the end put up just enough fight to not let NM Welcome convert the advantage salvaging a worthy draw in the biggest accomplishment of the young camper’s career.

Yujeong was also the tournament winner, alongside Yehuda and Gilad in section two (rated), and Charlotte in section three (rated), and Kerry and Jonathan in section four (unrated), and Ariel in section five (unrated).

Yujeong was also coach Chris’s best student along with Eli in Slava’s group, Charlotte in Justin’s group, Dexter in Anna’s group, Jonathan in Isaac’s group, and Elisha in Alex’s group.

Gilad was the overall simul winner, while Omer won Thursday’s Fisher Random event.

In sports groups the winners from oldest to youngest groups were Reece, Gilad, Dexter, Max, and Grace.

The Dodgeball winner was also Yujeong, but unexpectedly when held a concurrent event called Dodgeball Duels (one on one dodgeball knockout tournament) it was Eli who conquered the field, including the ominous Yujeong as well.

Paul’s choice for art was Geula, who was also part of one of Friday’s winning blitz/bughouse teams alongside partner Fedor. The other two winning groups were Dexter and Colin, and Omer, and Alex.
