December 2, 2023, Glen Rock Quads Report

Out of our 52 participants today, six of them were rated over 2000, making today one of our strongest Glen Rock Quad events in recent history! The strength of our tournament meant recent impressive performers like Ido Alkin were not able to participate in the top Quad!

In addition to our players rated over 2000, our top quad was joined by Al Lawrence - a monthly columnist of the Chess Life magazine! Even though he did not have the result he hoped for, we really enjoyed Al's presence and hope he will one day return to compete at our academy!

Rather, it was Yefim Treger who took first place with 2.5/3 points! After defeating our coach Igor Yeliseyev, as well as Ian Dudley, Yefim earned a draw against Ethan Modi, once again denting his goal to become a National Master.avg

But today's results pale in comparison to the results of our players last week at the National Chess Congress! A blog post was already written about the tournament. Our three top performers - Oleg, Jane, and Jack - will all feature live on The ICA Show Decmeber 3rd at 8pm!
