2024 Livingston Scholastic

Welcome to the Do-Re-Mi School of Music and the Arts in Livingston! Through our collaborative partnership, ICA tournaments are held once every month, in addition to chess lessons on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Each month, we alternate between Quads and Swiss format competitions.

The Livingston Scholastic is a Swiss-system tournament in which all competitors are guaranteed three games regardless of their division or results. We have sections for K-12 players of all rating levels!

All players should be familiar with how all of the pieces move, as well as with the rules of check and checkmate. Notation is required for players in sections 2 - 4 who are in 3rd grade or above.

All sections start at 10:00 AM exactly so 9:45 AM arrival is recommended.

All players in sections 2 - 4 must have a current USCF membership ($20 per year) in order to compete. For new players, click HERE to learn how to get an official rating.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three winners in each section.

Sections with 20 or more players will be split into two evenly-sized divisions, both with their own set of awards.
