ICA CHESS CAMP ’11 WEEK 6 REPORT - TEANECK:

 
We are into August and into the second half of our 2011 Scholastic Summer Camp Season.    Our coaching staff went through a drastic change from week five as Genry Krichevsky finished his summer responsibility and left, while Solomon “Old-School” Lerner replaced him in the field. 

The winners in the tournament sections were:  Anthony Clemente (1st), Eitan Jehelsohn (2nd), and Christian Lee (3rd) in section one, Ryan Zhuang (1st), Ben Dubetsky (2nd), and Daniel Garcia (3rd), in section two.  Ben Pyatski (1st), James Belov (2nd), and Mathew Goldgirsh (3rd), in section three, and finally, Yuito Tashiro (1st), Jaiden Shin (2nd), and Daniel Stern (3rd) in section four. 

Alexis Kvetnoy won for best notation,  while Christian Lee won the rated simul, with Mathew Goldgirsh the winner in the unrated section. 

In the study groups, Anthony Clemente won in Ivette’s group, Dillon Shelton won in Slava’s group, Ryan Zhuang won in Frank’s group, Alex Belov won in Izmail’s group, Mathew Goldgirsh won in David’s group, and finally Yoav won in Solomon’s group.

The Friday, blitz-bughouse championship was won by the “Chess Vikings” led by Christian Lee, with teammates Sophie Rasol, James Belov, and Ethan Yagudin.

The sports groups were won (in order of youngest to oldest): Dillon Shelton, Sophie Rasol, James Belov, Nick Belov, Idan Glickman, Elad Jehelsohn, and Eitan Jehelsohn. 

The team sports winners were James Belov for Dodgeball, Yuito for Soccer, with Sasha Konovalenko winning for art, Ryan Zhuang winning for Music.

Emily Dubetsky won for best effort, while Emmitt Wieting won for healthiest lunch.
