Fair Lawn Master Camp Report Week # 3
Again five students participated in the third week of Master Camp. Two last year participants: Sam and Don, joined Gilad, Ahron and Daniel.
Sam (the forth by rating!) surprised everyone by winning the Main Tournament with 3.5 points out of 4! Ahron and Gilad tied for 2nd – 3rd places, 1 point behind Sam. Don finished with 1.5 points; Daniel played only two games and lost both in fierce fight in time trouble! Overall the tournament was very even: anyone could have won.
During the week there was a competition on problem solving (tactical and studies). Gilad tried to replace the Ahron (favorite in this category) and showed wonderful result: 11 points! But Ahron still won with 15 points!
In sport competitions, winner of the first two weeks, Gilad was defeated by Sam who showed Olympic trials worth results in High and Long Jumps.
In Blitz the overall winner was Ahron.
The winners were awarded with chess books on Friday’s award ceremony!
