Three Amigos Win Dr. Ostfeld Open Section Spring Edition; Bartell, Kudrin, Katz tie for first place!

 

With 34 people participating It was a trio of masters at the top of the leader board as Thomas Bartell and Sergey Kudrin drew their last round game to finish at the top.  Alexander “future grandmaster” Katz won three of his games but drew his second round game against ICA coach Solomon Lerner to split the prize money with the other two first place winners.  Each got 225 dollars for their first through third place finishes.

Boris Privman scored three points, and only lost to Thomas Bartell to secure the sixty-eight dollar prize for being the best finisher over the age of 55.  Privman’s exact opposite Praveen Balakrishnan also netted three points (his only loss came to Sergey Kudrin) and won the sixty-eight dollar prize for best results of a player under the age of 13.

Igor Yeliseyev took ninety bucks for his three points and a best finish of a player under 2200, while Joel Pruzansky took ninety for his three points and the best results for a player rated under 2000.

Ivan Ke, a rising ICA talent scored two-and-a-half points and received ninety dollars for best results of a player rated under 1800.

Ramitha Ravishankar scored one-and-a-half points and got ninety dollars for  best result of a player rated under 1600.
