Winter Camp 2013 Is Almost Here! 
NINE! NINE! NINE! 9! Days Total!

 

Dear parents in an effort to help alleviate your child related stress this holiday season as well as leave your children with something to do while away from school we are once again offering our winter camp this December.

For the first time ever, given enough willing people of course, we will attempt to offer the camp at both our Teaneck and Fair Lawn locations.  While Fair Lawn has traditionally been the default spot for our winter camps if we have enough willing participants sign up ahead of time for the Teaneck location we can organize the camp in a way most convenient for everyone.  If there are not enough willing participants for Teaneck we will keep all attending campers in Fair Lawn.

The camp will run starting the Monday of December 23^rd and will be open every day until December 31^st.  It is the first time we are offering the program over the weekend and partially into the new year week but again if there are enough willing participants this will give both your child, and maybe even you the parents something to do (i.e.  we’ll watch ‘em in the camp while you relax).   

Parents will have the opportunity to sign up their children for the traditional half day package from 9-3 which will only include chess, or if they are so inclined full day package from 9-5 which will include music and art as well.

The schedule usually includes chess lessons from 9-11 am, sports from 11-12:30, lunch(we provide Pizza each day if children are allergic or if they do not like it please provide your own lunch) from 12:30-1, and tournaments as well as other competitions until 3. Those signed up for the full day will have music and art from 3-5, or if there are enough full day campers more chess.  Fridays are reserved for blitz bughouse and the award ceremony.

If weather does not permit we usually stay inside and do blitz, or tournaments or some other engaging competitions.

In terms of commitment you can sign your children up for individual days but with a small increase in price (see registration form) or for the whole week at our usual per week rate ($350 for half day, or $500 for full day). If you sign your child up for more than five days we will offer a small discount off the sum price (see the registration form).  Furthermore, we will try to offer some unique competitions to those children who stay longer than a week.
