ICA Camp 2014 Is Almost Here; Saturday Quads To Continue Throughout The Summer!

The 2014 summer season is almost here and with it the usual installments of ICA summer camp in Scholastic, Master, and Grandmaster camp sections.

The Scholastic camp will be held at both locations (Teaneck, and Fair Lawn) throughout the entire summer for all ten weeks and is open to children of any skill level.  The Master Camp (minimum rating USCF 1300 required to attend) run by IM Sergey Grabuzov will be held in Fair Lawn for all ten weeks, while the Grand Master Camp (minimum rating USCF 1800 required) will be in Fair Lawn for just three weeks total.

We still have space available in any of the categories and welcome everyone to inquire and sign up.

Thursday Swiss Comes To End For the Year with Lecture by GM Kudrin

Our Thursday Swiss competitions held at our Teaneck location came to an end with a lecture by GM Sergey Kudrin who gave a wonderful lecture based around his single win in the French defense against Kasparov conqueror Boris Gulko (GM Gulko himself lectured twice at the Thursday Swiss this year).  The Thursday tournament will go on hiatus for the duration of the summer and will hopefully start up again bigger and better in the Fall.

Saturday Quads To Continue This Summer

We will continue the Saturday Quads competition this summer despite lackluster attendance last year.  We hope to advertise the competition more aggressively this year and want to keep it going for the sake of those ICA students who are not going to attend the camp and may thus want to keep in form on the weekends.

Weekend Lessons In Teaneck and Fair Lawn

As usual we will also offer one hour lessons in Fair Lawn Saturday at 10 am, and Sunday in Teaneck at 10 am.  The lessons will be twenty-five dollars per one hour session or thirty-five dollars for one hour and a half session (no semester registration. Pay lesson to lesson) and will only require notification a day in advance.

Please contact Diana at Diana@icanj.net for details about any of the above topics and make sure to have a terrific Summer.
