January 2^nd, 2021 Quads Report

Welcome to all players and happy New Year to all! Thank you for participating in the first event of 2021! Here are the winners and highlights from this week's tournament!

Firstly, welcome to all of our new players! Gaaya, Daniel H., Satvik, Onyedikachi, and Angelo all played their first ICA event this week! We hope you enjoyed and that we will see you back in future tournaments!

In Section 1 our tournament's highest rated player Gaaya took the section with a perfect score! This was her first time playing with us and she entered with a bang! Congratulations Gaaya.

Section 2 had no new players but did have a new face rising to the top! Surya won the section with a perfect score! Surya struggled with the section's competition for the last three tournaments, but this time was able to conquer his rivals and take the trophy! Your perseverance and skills are commendable!

In Section 3, Sophia won the section for her second consecutive victory! Sophia won with a perfect score both this week and last week! Congratulations and we hope to see you continue your streak.

Section 4 had six players this week and therefore 2 prizes were available to be won. Rishi claimed first place all by himself scoring an impressive 2.5 points out of 3! New players Onyedikachi and Daniel H. split up second place in a tie with 2 points. Well done to all three of you!

In Section 5 Courtney and Ari split the section's rewards with 2.5 points out of 3! Both players have cemented themselves as regular competitors. I do not believe Ari has missed a tournament since we started the events! Courtney also continues to refuse to give up her 100%-win rate in our events! Rising through the ranks quickly, we are excited to see how far you can climb! Good job to both of you!

Section 6 saw Chunyu and Trevor split first place with 2.5 points each. They also score the Game of the Week for their battle against each other! Although there was the occasional blunder, overall, the game was very well played from both sides. The ending especially was overly exciting and demonstrated that both players possess calculation skills beyond their rating levels! Sections 7 screams do not forget about Dhruva! Although he has not built up a streak recently, Dhruva is one competitor who is constantly hitting the top of the standings. Today was no different as he crushed his competition with a perfect score!
